市场促进指数下跌但交易量增加。多头和空头激烈交锋，因为双方势均力敌,大量的买卖伴随着不显著的价格波动。双方之一(买家和卖家)最终会赢。通常这种突破发生的时候意味着趋势的开始或结束。比尔·威廉姆斯将其称为“屈膝礼”。
要计算市场促进指数，需要从最高期价格减去最低期价格，并除以成交量。
BW MFI = RANGE*(HIGH-LOW)/VOLUME
