技术指标迪马克(DeM)以比较当期和前一期价格最大值为基础。如果当期价格最大值位于前一期价格最大值之上，取值为两者之差。如果当期价格最大值低于或等于前一期价格最大值，取值为零。然后，对一定时期内的取值求和并除以其与期间价格最小值的和，就形成了数值指标迪马克。当价格最小值高于前一期水平时零位线固定。
当迪马克跌破30，可期待多方价格反转。如果迪马克指标上升超过70，可期待空方价格反转。
使用长周期进行计算可以抓住市场发展的长期趋势。短期的指标有助于计划交易时机，以最小风险进入市场并处于主要趋势的大潮中。
“i”期的迪马克值计算如下：
DeMax(i)计算：
如果 high(i) > high(i-1)，则 DeMax(i) = high(i)-high(i-1)，否则 DeMax(i) = 0
DeMin(i)计算：
如果 low(i) < low(i-1)，则 DeMin(i) = low(i-1)-low(i)，否则 DeMin(i) = 0
迪马克值计算：
DMark(i) = SMA(DeMax, N)/(SMA(DeMax, N)+SMA(DeMin, N))
其中：
SMA - 简单移动平均；
N - 计算使用的周期数。
